No Shit Sherlock

Tommy Bowden says he was fired, he did not resign:

Bowden said when it became apparent he lacked administration’s support, he agreed to begin negotiating terms of a buyout instead of trying to prolong his stay by probably a matter of days or weeks.
'I’m sure if we had talked longer, I probably could have,' Bowden said. 'But at that point in time, Dabo (Swinney) was obviously in their thought process, and we had just finished in the top five in recruiting the year before.
The sad thing is: he probably could have prolonged his stay. Hell he sells himself short, he probably could have gotten a new contract with a signing bonus and a new 10 million dollar buyout. He always was a smooth bullshitter. I just wish TDP wasn't such an idiot.

Now we're stuck with Tommy 2.0, who was already in mind as the ongoing head coach before Bowden was even fired. I guess that line about "evaluating other coaches" during the remainder of the season was all bullshit too. Imagine that.

for once, Tom, I (partially) agree with you. Bowden deserved it, and I also agree that we are currently dealing with TB2. I watched the Clemson/BC replay on espnU the other day and the frequency of bubble screens had me worried about next season. I should give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was working with the old playbook, but it is still kind of scary.

I am, however, very pleased with Dabo's additions to the coaching staff. I look forward to Kevin Steele building a mean defense (Vic Koenning did a great job, but the team didn't have that "killer" attitude) and working with Dan Brooks on the DL we should see a LOT more pressure on the opposing qb.

Offensively, I just hope Dabo doesn't get too trick-happy early on and end up showing all his cards before we get into the meat of the schedule. This year, give the ball to CJ and let him throw 60-yard TD passes to himself, and everything else should fall in place.

FWIW, i still think the rest of your blog sucks. This post was a step in the right direction, though, Rush.

That's just because you haven't realized yet that you're generally stupid and not correct about things very often. One day, you'll get it.
