On this election day as I prepare to head out to visit a customer and attempt to sell some more of my company's products I had an idea: did the Republicans set out to sabotage John McCain with the appointment of Sarah Palin as Vice President?
Don't get me wrong, I like Sarah Palin. I'd vote for her if she was on the ticket as the Presidential Candidate... but that's exactly my point: she's not what McCain needed. McCain destroyed his biggest advantage by picking Palin: experience. That debate was lost (albeit illogically) as soon as the media found out about her. They used factual information such as her plain lack of experience (even though she actually has more experience than Obama) as well as misinformation from whatever source they could find, even hacked email accounts. After the initial euphoria over her, even Republicans started to doubt that she was VP material.
In the end, McCain gained nothing from picking her. He could have picked an economic whiz, like Forbes or even Romney, or a Fair Tax advocate like Huckabee, seeing that the economy and taxes are the most important issues to voters, and McCain has admitted himself that he's weak on the economy (as seen by his poor debate performances against the outright socialism being proposed by Obama.) Yet he picked an unknown who, while admirably fought against big government in Alaska, has had very little economic experience and runs a state that has a smaller economy and population than most large US cities. There just doesn't seem to be anything good about his VP pick, and I think it killed his chances.
Now the question is: why? Why would the Republicans do this?
My answer: setting up Palin for 2012. The lady is amazing, and like I said, I'd vote for her for President right now. However, the American people in general will need longer to get to know her. I think this whole thing was designed as a coming out party for Sarah Palin. Look at all the media hysteria over her: they did the public vetting process for the Republicans; when they bring up this same petty crap in 2012 everyone will just say "get over it, old news." She is a great story, a real American who got into politics to clean up the system, and she's actually done that in her short career. After four more years, she'll be a Republican superstar, something that party hasn't had in a long, long time.
Also, the next four years aren't exactly going to be good. They'll probably be really bad, in fact. Even Joe Biden says that within 6 months of Obama taking office we are going to be "challenged" by an international enemy. Our economy is on the verge of collapse and given all the promises of government spending companies are moving overseas and scrapping plans for growth within the US. Obama might be the messiah but he's going to have to pull off actual miracles to have a good first four years, even with the media serving as his own personal propaganda machine. Long story short: the Sarah Palin story will be perfect for an ailing America in 2012. The Republican party saw this coming and that's why she was announced as McCain's VP pick.
McCain will take the fall in 2008 so that Palin can take the helm in 2012.

Palin will lose in 2012. The Republicans plan wasn't to sabotage McCain's campaign...they knew he wouldn't have a chance even with Huckabee or anyone else. Their plan was to sabotage the economy. Fool. Wake up. Palin is the epitome of American Fascism and you people who support her have no idea what you are doing. She's another H.W.Bush puppet that enjoys public face time and there is no way minorities are going to vote for her in a significant way.
Republicans sabotage the economy? How? By lowering taxes and cutting down on unscrupulous mortgages? How would that be bad for the economy?
You can thank Bill Clinton and countless other Democrats, mainly Chris Dodd for the Trillion dollar bailout of the banking industry, AKA the nationalization of credit. It's all there in the history, just look it up.
I seriously doubt you'll ever care, simply because of your attitude about minorities, but true conservatives and true Republicans are the opposite of Fascists. Fascists are the people who are going to take power in January, the socialist Democrats who will force us all to live by their rules.
Antero you are a moron, plain and simple. Republicans=Fascists? Really? How by cutting taxes and getting the goverment out of our lives? Just be happy with all of the handouts you are about to get clown.
I think they sidelined Ron Paul and missed a great chance to change the debate. This maybe the death of the Republican Party; they alienated their youth.
And, in a strange quirk, sucess may kill the Democrat Party from an overdose of "spoils". From the rubble, we may be able to construct a new pair of parties.
The Democratic Socialists and Liberty Rugged Individualists?
I am in total agreement with you. I also believe that if McCain did win, Bush's cronies would still be in power lurking in the background. By taking the loss, he cut Bush's links to the Whitehouse. I also believe that the stockmarket was designed to tank in October as well. McCain and Palin also acted like loons on purpose. The media also portrayed them as being mentally unbalanced. The media was in on the scam as well as the leaks which sounded like a classic disinformation campaign.
This was one of the strangest campaigns on record. There are very powerful people in the background grooming this woman. Very powerful. So powerful that McCain would take a loss, so powerful to crash the stockmarket (which needed crashing anyway - but just at the right moment), so powerful to make the media a tool of disinformation on Palin. Truly, the US is controlled by unseen forces and the people don't get it. They fell for the "bimbo" propaganda.
She is without a doubt, one of the most charasmatic and intelligent candidates I've ever seen. She will leave Clinton, Reagan, JFK, and Princess Diana as merely historical footnotes. When she is elected, she will serve 2 terms and be the most popular president in history.
I believe the Democrats were also in on the scam, and will appoint McCain as a favour in the new Obama government. In 4 years time, Obama will know the game is up and he will move aside for Palin.
I predict one of the following will happen in 2012 to make Obama fall: Either,
1) a stockmarket crash
2) a scandal in the government
3) disinformation campaign against Obama and his government
4) a world crisis which will make Obama appear impotent
All created by the unseen forces.
Or maybe, just naturally, his 4 years will be lack lustre.
What strikes me as incredible, is how easily manipulated the US people are by the media and disinformation. They don't realise they are being had. Iraq, the stockmarket, the media, the elections - all one giant scam.
Tom, you are a very insightful person to write this article. In all of the internet, I could find only your blog which had insight into the nature of this election scam. There were only a handful of blogs that mentioned McCain's campaign as being seemingly untoward. Tom, once again I am amazed in all of the internet you were the ONLY one who picked up on this. Please post a comment below me, I want your opinion on what I have written.
Joe, thanks for the praise. I think the Democrats were definitely in on the scam, just look at the Republican primaries... the results just didn't make sense.
Honestly I think the Democrats were scared shitless by Romney, so they came out in full force and skewed the election in McCain's favor. They knew he would be a pushover because of his lack of economic expertise. That's also why they initiated the "economic collapse". Think about it... everything was fine until a certain Democrat "leaked" that a certain bank was having trouble...
I'm not sure if everybody is in on the scam at the direction of some background forces or if it's just the happy accident of having a largely stupid population thanks to hidden socialism and public education. Either way, the citizens need to wake up and realize that we're being run into the ground by a government that is set up for the benefit of the very wealthy.
